Why I Wrote This Book
For most of my life, I mastered the art of performing strength. I carried the weight of perfection, leadership, and expectation — all while wearing a mask that said, “I’m fine.”
But behind the achievements, the titles, and the relentless drive was a woman who was tired. A woman who had learned that overachievement could be both her armor and her prison.
The Cost of Resilience
I wrote Another Face of Trauma: Removing the Mask of Overachieving because I wanted to start an honest conversation about what success costs when it’s fueled by pain. I wanted to give voice to the silent exhaustion that so many of us carry — the kind that hides behind productivity and professionalism.
Too often, we applaud resilience without asking what it’s costing us. We celebrate results without considering the toll on the person behind them. And we wear our achievements like armor, even as they keep us disconnected from our own hearts.
This book was born in the quiet spaces — the moments when I could no longer hide behind my degrees, my roles, or my responsibilities. It came from the stillness where I finally asked myself, “What would it mean to be enough without performing?” What I found was not weakness, but truth. Not failure, but freedom.
My Story, Her Story, Our Story
Another Face of Trauma is not just my story — it’s our story. The story of every woman who has shown up, smiled, and delivered excellence while silently wondering, “Who am I beneath all of this?”
Through reflections, poetry, and healing prompts, I explore how we can stop performing and start becoming. How we can trade perfection for peace. And how, in removing the mask, we make room for our most authentic selves to finally breathe.
✨ It’s time to breathe again. To heal. To be seen — truly.
Because healing doesn’t mean we stop leading. It means we lead from a place that’s real.
